Metadata

Metadata is the glue that holds today's in-flight entertainment systems together.  Strictly speaking it means "data about data", but in the air it's the database listings that allow the system to find the audio and video and play it. For large systems this means compiling the filenames, the descriptions, the titles, pictures and artists' names ready for loading with all the media files. 

The task can be small or huge and at every stage checks have to be built in to avoid errors.  Skyline prepares files and data for all the major systems currently flying.  (suggest screen shot of sds or something! thumbs of sleeves?)
